Hello and welcome to the family that is Thomas More College! My name is Bob Shearn and I am the Director of Campus Ministry. TMC is a caring and challenging community that will offer you many opportunities to grow and flourish as the person you were created to be. As a Catholic College of the Diocese of Covington, campus ministry is rooted in the Catholic Theological Tradition, a tradition most authentically expressed in its openness to God, others, and the world, embracing all in the love of God revealed in Jesus, the Christ. To be Catholic (the word means universal) is to be open to truth, beauty, goodness, and value wherever these are found. So, in that spirit, campus ministry welcomes students of all faith traditions encouraging their initiative and participation in offering programming and events that enrich the Thomas More Community. Three key areas of programming include: prayer and worship; fellowship and faith development; service and social justice. And for those who love research, we also sponsor The Servant Scholar Institute for Faith and Culture, a research arm of campus ministry which explores, in depth, issues around which campus ministry is or will be developing programming and/or events (Hunger and Poverty, Human Trafficking, Young Adult Spirituality, etc.) For a comprehensive listing of programs, please check out the campus ministry website under student life. We welcome student initiative and leadership from all corners of the campus.

A long-time campus minister, I have served on a large state university campus plus three smaller Catholic campuses. I received my undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice Administration from King’s College in Wilkes Barre, PA plus an M.A. in Systematic Theology from the University of Notre Dame. My office is in Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel in the heart of the TMC campus. Feel free to stop by for a heart-to-heart chat or for some plain old tomfoolery. I relish both. I look forward to meeting you sometime soon.
