Namaan Mian (Calvary Christian) is graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and an Associate Degree in History. Namaan has maintained his superior academic performance while adding a variety of professional experiences to his resume including a stint in Washington, D. C. as a Gene Snyder Fellow (Spring Semester, 2011). Serving as a legislative aide on the staff of Congressman Geoff Davis, Namaan attended congressional hearings and developed briefing reports, conducted issue-related research, prepared constituent responses, led visitor tours of the Capitol, and trained other intern staff. He was able to obtain the Fellowship after serving as an in-district aide for Congressman Davis (2010). Namaan also had the opportunity to present his senior seminar research, ""Whiskey is for Drinking; Water is for Fighting Over:" How Democratic States React to Resource Conflicts," at the 2013 Conference of the Kentucky Political Science Association. Namaan served as a delegate representing Thomas More (and the State of Kuwait) at the 2013 Ohio Valley Arab League Summit held at Miami University (OH) where he was honored as a "Delegate of Note" by conference organizers. His political experience at Thomas More was augmented by his participation in the Student Activities Board (2010 - 2011), Student Government Association (2009 - 2012), as Vice President of the College's chapter of the national political science honor society (Alpha Zeta Theta, 2012-2013), and by his active participation in the College's Political Science Club where he was the Secretary- Treasurer (2011 - 2013). Namaan recently accepted a position with the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, where he will engage in fundraising on behalf of local non-profit organizations.
